About Andrei

Thirty-five years
in beauty

I have spent thirty-five years in this industry, and three decades of them backstage at New York Fashion Week. That is where I learned to work quickly, in changing light, and to make the face in front of me look like the person who walked in — never like the makeup.

Along the way I have worked with Iman, Donna Karan, Annie Leibovitz, and André Leon Talley, and I still work with cosmetic companies including Prada, YSL, and Pat McGrath Labs as a regional makeup artist serving the DMV. What I do now is bring that same standard to one person at a time: a quiet room, an unhurried hour, and enough attention on your own face to get it right.

The approach

Considered,
not corrected.

Most people do not need a new face, a new wardrobe, or a new way of standing in a room. They need someone to look closely and tell them the truth about what is already there.

A.B.B.A. is the private practice of Andrei Scholz — makeup artistry, personal image work, and wardrobe editing, handled as one continuous idea rather than separate appointments.

Sessions are one-to-one and unhurried. Some clients come for a lesson before a wedding, some for a portrait, some because a closet full of clothes stopped producing an outfit. All of it starts in the same place: an honest read of what suits you.

Five services

Where we can begin

Take one, or take the set. Most clients start with a single session and add from there.

Pricing is tailored to each client and each look. Reach out and Andrei will put together a quote for you.

How it works

Three steps,
no guesswork

Every engagement follows the same quiet structure. You always know what happens next, what it covers, and what you take home.

  1. 01

    Reach out

Send a text or a short note about what you are hoping to change — a lesson, an event, a wardrobe that has stopped working. No detail is too small.

  2. 02

    Consult

We talk it through over text or email: your features, your routine, the occasion, and the honest gaps. You get a quote and available dates, and you leave knowing exactly what the session will cover.

  3. 03

    Your session

Hands-on, unhurried, and built around your face and your closet. You leave with techniques you can repeat and a look that holds.

Start here

Tell me what you
want to change.

A text or a short note is enough. Say which service caught your eye, roughly when you need it, and anything about the occasion. Andrei answers personally — by text or email, usually the same day — with a quote and available dates. Pricing is tailored to each client and each look, so nothing is listed here. Sessions are held across Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
